Google Trends是我常用的一个工具，我经常用它来查看其它网站的流量趋势和该网站的流量主要来源国家。今天无意中发现一个奇怪的数据，让我不得不开始怀疑Google Trends数据的准确性。

其实发现的过程很简单，我无意中打开了Google Trends并在里面键入了download.com,得到的趋势图让我大跌眼镜。我赶紧又输入了靠前的softpeida.com以及softonic.com这两个软件下载站点，却没有明显的趋势变化。请看下图：

可以看到，download.com的流量在四月份的时候有一个骤降的过程并一直持续到了7月，这是不可思议的，CNet应该不会犯这样大的一个错误，那么另外的可能性就是Google Trends的取值出现了异常。带着这个疑问我又来到了Alexa.com,希望能够找到一些线索。

同样我在Alexa流量对比中输入了download.com;softpedia.com以及softonic.com这三个软件下载站点，趋势图显示:download.com的流量趋势并没有明显的变化。请看下图:

最近有一个新的版本的发布，采用了PRNewswire的新闻(press release)发布的服务。费用:$460;新闻覆盖面:全美;媒体包括线上和线下媒体以及众多的编辑。现在距新闻稿发布时间已经1天，以下是一个简单的总结。

根据PRNewswire的报表,已有195家线上的媒体发布了我们的Press Release;我大概看了一下报表,很多都是美国本土各个州的网站,我随机抽查了几个,确实我们的Press Release已经发布到了这些网站上。值得一提的是，Press Release中的链接大都是可点击的超链接的形式，这样的话应该可以为网站带来大量的反向链接，可惜的是不能加入文字链接。另外，很惊喜的发现forbes.com也出现在了报表之中，看来与PRNewswire长期合作的在线媒体还是比较多的。由于选择的新闻覆盖面是全美，所以报表中的线上媒体也基本是美国的网站。

在Google中搜索”Press Release Title”的结果为242个结果，值得高兴的是有数个目标媒体也发布了我们的Press Release.

在Google中搜索 allintitle:”Press Release Title”得到37个结果，相比之下就不是那么理想了。

到目前为止，还未有一个Editor提出需要评估版。

总结: 从这一天的网站数据表现来看，到目前为止此次Press Release的发布并未直接对流量、下载量、和销售量的数据有明显的影响，后期效果需进一步观察，一周后应能够评估效果。

Here is my terrible experience with their piece of sh!t service

They claimed on their website they will provide country and keyword targeted traffic in the manner of “contextual’ links over their, say, 30,000 webmasters and content publishers, which is quite different from some other traffic supply companies. So I decided to purchase 250,000 visitors to be delivered in one month, a $90 service. I expected to get 800+ unique visitors to my website.

I created a landing page especially for this campaign so I can track the effect with google analytics.

Refund? Noway!

On the very second day I knew I was cheated, so I hopefully ask them to refund. That’s real a nightmare, I tried every means, emailed them everyday, leave messages on their live support, and I tried to search their telephone number. When I was finally told by my credit card issuing bank that I cannot chargeback, I felt really pissed off and I decide try my best to screw these SOBs; at least warn somebody away from their services.

I never found out what the payment system they are using, maybe it’s best to request refund directly from the payment system. If somebody reading this post know it, please tell me, I’ll appreciate it a lot.
